DÜSSELDORF, Germany – October 18, 2022 – At this month’s K 2022, Avient will exhibit its latest innovations and initiatives for the plastics industry as part of its drive toward creating sustainable and specialized material solutions. This includes offering lower-carbon alternatives to thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) without sacrificing performance, expanding our portfolios to include the use of bio-renewable feedstock and post-industrial or post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, and introducing new materials and services focused on meeting specific customer needs while helping to advance a circular economy.

At K 2022, Avient will launch new technologies, including:

  • ColorMatrix™ FlexOne™: A single equipment unit that will be on display at Avient’s booth featuring new technology for liquid metering, developed with sustainability in mind to optimize the benefits of liquid colorant and additive technologies for a range of applications.
  • New Maxxam™ REC, Maxxam™ BIO, and Nymax ™ BIO grades: An expanded portfolio of recycled and bio-based polyolefin and polyamide formulations now manufactured in Europe. These grades can offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional grades while achieving equivalent performance in many applications and industries, including transportation, industrial, consumer, electrical and electronic, and building and construction.
  • reSound™ Ultra-Low Carbon Footprint TPEs: These TPE formulations offer an industry-first cradle-to-gate negative, neutral, or near-zero product carbon footprint (PCF) while delivering comparable performance to traditional TPEs.

In addition to these launches, Avient will also announce:

  • Customer success collaboration with L’Oréal and joint study with Borealis using Avient’s Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Color Prediction Service: A digital service using sophisticated technology to illustrate the color possibilities or limitations of certain types of PCR. This can improve the customer experience of working with PCR content for materials used in packaging by offering options that can create global color consistency, improved quality, and greater circularity.
  • Customer success story with a medical device company using Avient’s Colorant Chromatics™ Transcend™ Bio-compatible Premier Healthcare Colorants: Intended specifically for medical applications, the pre-colored solutions that are fully bio-compatible per ISO 10993 standards helped provide a customer that manufactures medical devices with ultra-high-heat resistance and performance for its orthopedic instruments without compromising safety.

At K 2016, Avient exhibited under its former name, PolyOne. Since then, Avient has become better together by further expanding our growing composites portfolio with the addition of the globally admired brand of Dyneema®, the World's Strongest Fiber™. The ultra-lightweight specialty fiber is 15 times stronger than steel and is used in demanding applications such as ballistic personal protection, marine and sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy, industrial protection, and outdoor sports. This combination of expertise and technologies will help customers adapt to a changing world with innovative materials, distinctive services, and a more secure supply chain.

Avient will exhibit at Hall 8A/G10 at K 2022 in Dusseldorf, Germany, from October 19-26, 2022.

Knowledgeable representatives from Avient will be on hand to help manufacturers address challenges in meeting sustainability and performance goals and offer visitors the opportunity for in-depth collaboration and discussion at our Collaboration Café.
