DÜSSELDORF, Germany – September 19, 2022 – At K 2022 next month, Avient is showcasing several new game-changing innovations to expand its comprehensive portfolio. These new materials and services focus on meeting specific customer needs while helping to advance a circular economy.

“Right now, industries across the globe are adjusting to an incredible number of significant challenges in a short period – overcoming supply chain issues, reducing environmental impacts, and more – and Avient is rising to help customers meet these challenges,” said Holger Kronimus, vice president EMEA and general manager Specialty Engineered Materials EMEA and India, at Avient. “We welcome K 2022 attendees to visit our stand and learn how Avient is helping them address these needs with a new generation of specialized and sustainable technologies.”

At K 2016, Avient exhibited under its former name, PolyOne. Since then, Avient has become better together by combining with global industry leaders, including the recent addition of the Avient Protective Materials portfolio, including the Dyneema® brand, the world’s strongest fiber™. This combination of expertise and technologies will help customers adapt to a changing world with innovative materials, distinctive services, and a more secure supply chain.

New technologies Avient will feature at K 2022 include:

  • ColorMatrix™ FlexOne™ is a single equipment unit designed with sustainable technology in mind to meet current and future liquid metering needs for a range of applications.
  • Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Color Prediction Service is a digital service using sophisticated technology to help illustrate the color possibilities or limitations of certain types of PCR for customers, including polyolefins and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins. This can help simplify the overall decision-making process for brand owners and technical colorists and help shorten the time-to-launch of new product ranges.
  • Transcend™ Bio-compatible Premier Healthcare Colorants are vibrant, high-temperature colorants and pre-colorants formulated to provide ultra-high-heat resistance and performance. Intended specifically for medical applications, they are now available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in a range of vivid opaque and transparent colors.
  • Maxxam™ REC, Maxxam™ BIO, and Nymax ™ BIO include new and expanded offerings of recycled and bio-based polyolefin formulations, providing a more sustainable alternative to traditional polyolefin grades while achieving comparable performance. Eight Nymax™ BIO bio-based polyamide formulations are now manufactured in Europe, further extending the company’s sustainability portfolio.
  • reSound™ Ultra Low Carbon Footprint TPEs are formulated to achieve a negative, neutral, or near-zero product carbon footprint (PCF). The initial grades offer an industry-first PCF between -0.46 and 0.0. These new reSound materials utilize global formulation expertise, green manufacturing processes, and sourcing & logistics competence to lower net CO2 emissions while delivering comparable performance to traditional TPEs.

Knowledgeable representatives from Avient will also be on hand to help manufacturers address challenges in meeting sustainability and performance goals and offer visitors the opportunity for in-depth collaboration and discussion at our Collaboration Café.

Avient will exhibit at Hall 8A/G10 at K 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 19-26, 2022.
